In the original Clash of the Titans, Perseus (Harry Hamlin) sets out to rescue the Princess Andromeda by defeating the Kraken before it is too late.
In the 2010 3D remake of the 1981 original, Perseus (Sam Worthington) sets out to defeat the Kraken before it eats the Princess Andromeda and destroys Argos.
In the sequel to the 2010 remake, Wrath of the Titans, Zeus has been kidnapped by Hades as the Titans have been released to cause destruction. After learning of this, Perseus journeys off to rescue Zeus and defeat the Titans.
In November 2011, Warner Bros hired Dan Mazeau and David Leslie Johnson, who co-wrote Wrath of the Titans, to develop and write a treatment for a third installment.
